Qatar – A great tourist destination
Qatar appears to be a place of high end tourism. Instead of being endowed with natural gifts, it has had many things created with diligence and determination. This makes a trip to Qatar so interesting and fascinating. Some people might find the conspicuous display of oil wealth slightly distasteful, but it is nothing to compare with the behavior of English tourists in Spain. The place is full of artificial monuments but it is not a problem as the replicas are very good indeed. As part of the process of embracing the nature of developments, it is advisable to book a room in a luxury hotel. This is the place people with money can really enjoy the beauties of Qatar. It seems that no expense is spared to give the hotel guests some of the world’s most luxurious treatment.
The costs of living in Qatar are relatively higher than the rest of the Middle East but they are lower for the Western visitors that come from countries that have outrageous prices on almost all products. It is a good idea to take a tour of the desert area so that the visitor gets a perspective on this landscape feature that determines the way that the Qatar people lead their lives. It is also practical to request a guided tour of the traditional living quarters because these are gradually being taken over by the large developments that are now characteristic of the area. The Middle Eastern cuisine is very interesting but might not suit all the tastes of the visitors. Gambling is morally frowned upon and there is a ban on alcohol in places where the locals are frequent visitors. The region is an Islamic enclave and therefore the visitors should expect some very conservative views.
If they expect to enjoy the visit to Qatar, they will need to ensure that they are in a position to pick up all the different tabs that go with the trip. They also need to remember that they cannot apply the cultural standards of their home areas to Qatar. This is a region that has strict laws against the foreigners that fail to abide by their rules. Women are particularly vulnerable to the restrictions that are imposed by conservative thing. Despite all that background, Qatar still remains one of the most progressive countries in the Middle East. There are efforts to cater for the Western tourists. The shopping is rather good but it tends to concentrate on the designer items rather than the local produce. That is the kind of thing that you could get in Milan or London so it should not become the focus of the trip. Nevertheless the visit to Qatar will be an interesting contrast to some of the countries in Europe in terms of the norms that are followed.
