Make Settling In A Breeze With These Great Home Moving Tips
Buying a dream home in Chennai, especially at a place like OMR, or on a GST road is sure to give anyone the amazing feeling of satisfaction and peace of mind for making the best investment. However, when it comes to moving your stuff to a new home, it can seem to be a realization of your worst nightmare and a whole other ball game! Here are a few tips that will help you pack and move into your new home with ease.
To begin with, write down everything you want to do. Just get a notepad and put down whatever you want to pack, making a list of ‘Things to Remember’. Always have this notepad handy though, since it won’t be of any use if you don’t refer to it! Get as many cardboard packing cartons as possible, these can be available at the local wastepaper mart. With a bold marker, label each as books, kitchenware, shoes, clothes, etc. You would also need to mention some extra details, like if the cartons have anything breakable; if so, then do write ‘breakable’ in bold letters, so that those who are transporting your goods will be extra careful. Keep in mind that you don’t fill the boxes with too much stuff, because they will become too heavy to carry. Also, make sure you tape the boxes well, so that they don’t open when being carried.
All the toiletries, personal care products, ceramic and glass articles can be carried in buckets. As you pack, just get rid of all your old, unwanted stuff like old newspapers, bottles, clothes that you don’t wear, broken furniture, unwanted plastic containers, books, etc., you can always sell them, or just give them away to those who are in need.
Always keep similar goods together, for instance; keep bulbs, lamps, cords, chargers, etc. together. Similarly, keep all kitchenware in one carton. You can always make use of your travelling bags and suitcases by putting your clothes and other light materials in them. If you have cash and jewelry, see that you put them in a bank locker before you start packing. Keep all your important certificates, passports, silverware, antiques, etc with you – may be in that car that you drive.
To make things easier, you can allocate each family member the responsibility of a few boxes. You can also ask each family member to carry a bag or backpack with them, to carry all their personal belongings like mobile phones, laptops, medication they need every day, water bottles, credit cards, ID cards, extra cash, etc. Moving can be a tiresome task; however, investing some time in planning it in advance can definitely make things much easier.
