Make a Great Memory With A Great Kid’s Pool Party

What more is necessary for a great pool party than family, friends and a pool? A pool party is a great time for young children to play with friends in a safe, comfortable environment during the warmer months. A kid’s pool party is a special type of party because it allows children to swim and exercise at the same time. Swimming can help burn calories, increase muscle strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Having fun party supplies will really liven up a pool party; start with balloons, beach balls, sun umbrellas, and pool floaters. Pool or water themed tableware items such as paper plates, cups, napkins, and cuttery make a nice addition to any pool party. Send pool party invitations to all guests as well. Make sure to tell the guests in the pool or nautical themed invitations, exactly what kind of party it will be, so they can come prepared.

Pool Party games and Activities: Create additional fun and excitement through pool party games and activities. While a pool alone is fun, make the party more fun by suggesting children play a wide range of fun, yet challenging pool games.

A fun classic activity is a Treasure Hunt that lets the kids prove which of them is best at finding treasure. Place objects in the center of the pool – either ones that float or sink – and have child dive to get them. The child who can grab the treasure first is the winner.

Kids love a good Tug-O-War game with two teams each pulling opposite ends of a rope and trying to pull the other team into the poll.

The Dog Paddle is a funny swim stroke and the kids will enjoy racing each other from one end or side of the pool to the other using only this stroke in a Dog paddle Race. Ensure the children do not break the doggy paddle technique.

Over the River Game – Players skip over the water stream while one person holds the stream low on the ground. The stream gets progressively higher after each player has his or her turn. The player who hits the stream of water is eliminated.

What sounds better to kids than a pool party with pizza and BBQ as the refreshments. Other dishes include lemon ginger shrimp, bacon wrapped hotdogs, pasta salad, and various summertime fruits such as watermelon, cherries, strawberries, and pears.

At a pool or any party all the winners should get party favors as awards. In addition, give all guests a summer time themed party favor bag children can take home and enjoy. Offer children sunglass, flip-flops, beach balls, water guns, water balloons, and towels.

While a pool party is all fun and games, ensure children are monitored at all times and follow pool safety rules.
